‘Artisan food items can now be traded countrywide. The authorization regulates artisan food products of animal origin produced in a traditional way , with their own traditional or regional characteristics and methods, using good agricultural and manufacturing practices subject to the supervision of public health agencies of the States and the Federal District.’
That’s how the Law 13.680/18 was sanctioned by Michel Temer yesterday, the 14th. It finally dealt with the trade of the Brazilian artisan product which had been restrained by laws and protocols that dated to 1950 (as it is the case of the federal Inspection Seal- SIF) and were considered infeasible to small and medium sized enterprises.
Now a unified Seal which attests the product as ‘art’ enables its circulation countrywide. This management will be done by public health agencies of the states and the Federal District.
