Annona mucosa
VERY COMMON IN THE Amazon and also popular in the Northeast region, the appearance of this fruit is not very appealing: the hard skin has fleshy thorns and it becomes darker as it ripens. However, the white pulp is sweet and soft, high in vitamin C and potassium. A fruit of the custard- apple family, it is good fresh, but can also be used in smoothies and ice creams. Because it is too fragile, it is hardly sold outside the regions where it originates. Harvesting goes from March to June.
