Fortunella japonica
It looks like a miniature orange, although it does not belong to the genus Citrus. This soft fruit, rounder or more oval, has an edible peel that is somewhat bitter and very fragrant, and can be enjoyed fresh or used in salads, jams and compotes. The Chinese name kumquat (kinkan in Japanese) means “golden orange”.
