Manteiga Beans

Phaseolus lunatus

Elongated, light beige in color, these beans are velvety, mild and creamy when cooked. It is used in soups, salads and mashes. Because of regional differences, other types of beans may be known as manteiga (literally “butter”) – for example, of canary beans.
