One of the hottest cities in the world will receive a Brazilian restaurant that is different from the conventional ones that North Americans are used to. This time, no barbecue, nor rice and beans. Chef Manoella Buffara will open Ella Brasileira in Chelsea, New York presenting foreigners with a more sophisticated version of the gastronomy of our country.

The news was given first hand by the website Eater New York and released by the chef on her Instagram. She is known in Brazil because of Manu restaurant, in Curitiba, in which the menu is updated daily and has options of 4, 7 or 11 courses. The place has only 10 tables, it values good Brazilian food and gained prominence in the World’s 50 Best, in the discoveries category.

At Ella Brasileira, Manu will cook in the center of the main room and will have Márcio Silva, from Guilhotina Bar, in São Paulo as a bartender. On Instagram, the chef commented on the achievement. “It has been 10 months since the beginning of the project. A project that would change the direction of my life and the lives of people around me. Since then, I have had to think about how to manage all of this.  I had to invite the right people to join the project and wait. Waiting for answers, waiting for the time it takes for things to happen and accepting all these processes. Accepting that it was happening, accepting that my life would never be the same. During all this time, with trips, events, managing the restaurant in Curitiba, and mainly – my family, my greatest asset. Everything seemed like a dream until I saw the space under construction. Then the article came out, in which I could really ascertain that it was all on the brink of happening. More than that, Paraná is being represented worldwide and gaining more space in world gastronomy. I thank everyone who  has always believed in my work and supported me until now. And there’s more to come … ”, she wrote.

Ella Brasileira will be located on 436 West 15th St, between 10th and 9th Avenue, and will open in the Northern Hemisphere summer.
